Tuesday - Spanish

5/6, 7/8
We reviewed AR/ER verbs and worked on IR verbs today. They practiced with a variety of worksheets. On some they had to look at the subject of the sentence and from that conjugate the verb. On others they practiced just forming each verb form. Afterward we played heads up seven up and they would conjugate a verb before guessing who tapped them.

I had a game board and in every space I had a house vocabulary word. They would roll once dice and move ahead that many spaces. They would then translate the word they landed on. If they were correct they would stay there, and if they were wrong they would move back one space. There were also short cuts that they could use but they would have to translate two words to do so. They did quite well!

5/6, 7/8
We began conjugation today! We began with the present tense and focused mainly on AR verbs. They did very well!! I was impressed!

Thursday

Today we began with the SAT problem of the day followed by devotions. Then I continued with a Bible lesson about the end of times. This was followed by a worksheet which should be completed by tomorrow. The students also wrote out their memory for me this morning and we did some problem solving. In the afternoon we began with math. 7th grade's homework is found on page 191 #1-6, 1-4, 1-10. 8th grade's homework is found on pages 214-216 #1-15, 1-8. We did not get to civics today as math took a little more time then planned. We ended with science and talking about the science experiment. They have a check list that should be filled out by tomorrow.

Thursday - Spanish

We learned the last of our verbs today and I it followed with a brief worksheet so they could get used to the words/spelling of the words. In 5/6 I had a "hang man sentence" that included all of the vocabulary words and my plan was to have them first pick out the vocabulary words and then also to decipher the meaning based on the words they knew. It began to take too long so we wrapped it up and then continued with jeopardy to practice their verbs. In 7/8 we learned the verbs and did the worksheet as well but went straight to jeopardy.
